Storytelling with genre-bending inclinations & international flavor.
Word wrangler by inclination and international affairs wonk by trade, Andrea Tang is a DC-based writer of various genres and mediums, who likes asking questions about how different cultures – and by extension, different people – collide, mix, or otherwise converse with each other. She's particularly keen on exploring the impact of postcolonialism, immigration, and diaspora, and is a member of Codex Writers. She is represented by Thao Le of the Sandra Dijkstra Literary Agency.
Andrea graduated from Bryn Mawr College, where she double majored in English literature and East Asian languages and cultures, and the University of Oxford, where she completed a master's degree in contemporary Chinese studies. Her favorite academic accomplishment is tricking her thesis committee into letting her spend an entire year writing about the postcolonial politics of modern wuxia cinema.
When not misapplying her imagination to notebook scribblings, she enjoys martial arts, theater, and ruining beloved musicals by remixing show tune lyrics with hot takes on global politics.
